Karla Cedano, President of ANES, and Rosanety Barrios, independent analyst of the Mexican energy sector, will share the stage on March 31st. During the 45-minute online session, they will talk about the chances that the Mexican economy has in the short, medium and long term with solar energy to face supply shortages and fluctuating prices of fossil fuels.
Karla Cedano
She is Secretary of Technological Management and Liaison of the Institute of Renewable Energies of the UNAM, Administrative Manager of CeMIE-Sol, Coordinator of the Solar Energy Network, and President of the National Association of Solar Energy (ANES).
She holds a PhD in Engineering and Applied Sciences, is a member of the Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities of the State of Morelos, of the Editorial Committee of the Energy Efficiency Magazine of FIDE, of the Mexican Society for the Dissemination of Science and Technology, of the Innovation Assessment Committee of CeMIE-Sol, mentor of the Network of Women in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, of the Global Women's Network for Energy Transition and member of the International Women's Forum.
Rosanety Barrios
She is one of the most recognized energy experts in Mexico. Her professional experience spans 15 years in the Mexican financial sector and more than 20 years in the energy sector, where she worked as a public official at the Energy Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Energy between 2000 and 2018.
She holds a degree in Finance from the Universidad Tecnológica de México, a Master in Finance from the UNAM and a Master in Economic Regulation of Network Industries from the University of Barcelona. She is an advisor on energy policy and regulation, an international speaker on energy issues and Founding Advisor of Voz Experta, a group of high-profile women whose objective is to make women visible in energy forums. She is a member of the Board of Directors of ANES and a member of the International Women's Forum, among other. Petróleo y Energía magazine recognized her as one of the 100 leaders of the Energy Sector in Mexico for the years 2020 and 2021.
Marisol Oropeza
Born in Mexico and based in Germany since 2004, Marisol's academic and professional background are international and multidisciplinary. She has worked in the public, non-profit and private sector in Mexico and Germany, and has worked in the solar heating and cooling market since 2008. Her core competencies are in strategic marketing, business development and project management.
Since 2016, she works as independent business and marketing consultant specialized in the solar market. She has advised important European companies and organizations and leads international projects from the solar market.
