Mexico has some of the world's highest solar radiation levels and significant potential to decarbonize industrial processes through concentrating solar thermal technologies. However, fossil fuels still dominate industrial heat generation. This session will present a regional techno-economic assessment of solar process heat in Mexico, analyzing different industrial applications and operating temperature scenarios. Based on case studies from several regions of the country, the presentation will explore economic feasibility, payback periods, and the opportunities that solar thermal energy offers to reduce energy costs, emissions, and fossil fuel dependence in Mexican industry.

Solar thermal technologies and thermal energy storage are gaining momentum as strategic solutions to decarbonize industrial and commercial heat demand. At the same time, innovation, new business models, hybrid systems, and evolving policy frameworks are creating new opportunities for the deployment of renewable heat solutions across different sectors and markets.   This panel will bring together international experts and technology leaders to discuss the latest trends, market perspectives, policy drivers, and technological innovations shaping the future of solar heat and thermal storage.
