Mexico has some of the world's highest solar radiation levels and significant potential to decarbonize industrial processes through concentrating solar thermal technologies. However, fossil fuels still dominate industrial heat generation.

This session will present a regional techno-economic assessment of solar process heat in Mexico, analyzing different industrial applications and operating temperature scenarios. Based on case studies from several regions of the country, the presentation will explore economic feasibility, payback periods, and the opportunities that solar thermal energy offers to reduce energy costs, emissions, and fossil fuel dependence in Mexican industry.
