Natalia de la Fuente is an expert in energy transition policies with a focus on social awareness, energy efficiency, the development of new markets, and gender equity. She currently teaches in the School of Political Science and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and also serves as a public official, where she holds the position of Director of Security and Energy Transition at the Nuevo León Renewable Energy Agency. In this role, she leads initiatives that promote the responsible use of energy, streamline energy-related bureaucratic procedures, the development of human capital in the state with a gender perspective, and the strengthening of the value chain to accelerate clean hydrogen projects and their derivatives, among other strategies for integrating regulations and strategic stakeholders.
In 2025, she won the 'Mujer Solar' award from the Council of Photovoltaic Energy Professionals (CPEF) in the 'Women in Government' category. Her career includes developing a municipal guide for the adoption of renewable energy projects, coordinating Energy Management Systems for public buildings in Nuevo León, mentoring students, and working with international organizations-such as the Danish government, the Mexico-Germany Alliance, and the U.S. Department of Energy-to strengthen training and the adoption of best practices in the energy sector.
Committed to a just energy transition, Natalia promotes programs that ensure equitable access to energy and the active participation of women in the sector, fostering tools that encourage a culture of inclusion and collaboration. Her vision seeks not only to accelerate the shift toward a more sustainable energy model but also to ensure that this transformation benefits society as a whole.
