Challenges and opportunities in the solar distributed generation and storage in Mexico

This webinar is held in cooperation with the Mexican Photovoltaic Industry Association - AMIF and will focus on the challenges and opportunities of distributed solar generation and energy storage in Mexico. Topics of great interest that will also be part of the Intersolar Mexico Congress to be held on September 5 and 6 in Mexico City.

Valeria Amezcua

Valeria holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Masters in Energy and Sustainability from the University of Southampton. Her professional career has been highlighted by her experience in the Mexican electricity regulator; in the last 8 years she specialized in distributed energy resources and the integration of variable renewable energies. She is currently a consultant in circular economy strategies at Reverso Consultores, and teaches on energy and sustainability issues.

Alejandro Zamora

Alejandro holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, with a Master's degree in Renewable Energies from the Universidad de Cervantes. He is a specialist in energy storage, short circuit analysis and power quality, among other topics in the photovoltaic industry. He is CEO of Tecnoproyectos Avanzados and member of the Board of Directors of AMIF.

Jait Castro

Jait is a Chemical Engineer and Master in Renewable Energy from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara with 14 years of professional experience in industrial, process and energy sectors. He has studies and certifications related to the photovoltaic sector and is an instructor and professor for institutions such as the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Autonomous University of Guadalajara.

He is the author of the book Fotovoltaica para el Usuario final, founder of the international podcast The Solar Post and guest columnist in digital and printed media related to the photovoltaic sector. He was director of the postgraduate program in renewable energy at the UAG and director of its Center for Sustainability and Renewable Energy.

He is currently Country Manager of the global distributor of solar inputs Paragon Solar, as well as president of AMIF.
