The local government of several states in Mexico encourage a greater deployment of renewable energy sources through different support programs and projects. In this webinar, the speakers will present the support programs for solar energy in the State of Jalisco and Mexico City.
Arturo Castro López, Energy Agency of Jalisco State
He is Energy technician at the Energy Agency of the State of Jalisco, and professor at the University of Guadalajara in the water and energy department. He is specialized in electrical power systems, power electronics and automation.
Dr. Alberto Valdés, Economic Development Secretariat of Mexico City
Head of the General Directorate of Energy Development and Sustainability of Mexico City.
He holds a degree in Energy Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Energy Engineering from UNAM. Also he has a specialization in renewable energies from the Ente Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ENI Group) in Urbino, Italy.
He is a founding member and former president of ANES and was president of the National Solar Energy Standardization Committee NESO-13. He was appointed member of the Latin American Solar Heating Committee in Belo Horizonte Brazil and Member of the German Academy of Renewable Energies in Berlin, Germany.
He has managed the installation of more than 3,000 solar photovoltaic and solar water heating systems. He also holds a patent for a double-opening evacuated tube solar heater.
Marisol Oropeza
Born in Mexico and based in Germany since 2004, Marisol's academic and professional background are international and multidisciplinary. She has worked in the public, non-profit and private sector in Mexico and Germany, and has worked in the solar heating and cooling market since 2008. Her core competencies are in strategic marketing, business development and project management.
Since 2016, she works as independent business and marketing consultant specialized in the solar market. She has advised important European companies and organizations and leads international projects from the solar market.
