Zulleth Tajas

Zulleth Monserrath Tejas Álvarez holds a Master's degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS), in collaboration with the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste (CIBNOR). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Instituto Tecnológico de La Paz and a postgraduate diploma in Good Governance, specializing in Public Policies for Well-Being. She has extensive experience in public administration, with a professional track record in managing projects with environmental and social impact, conducting environmental audits, and carrying out financial evaluations of federal programs. She currently serves as Director of Energy and Telecommunications at the Secretariat of Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility, Environment and Natural Resources of the Government of the State of Baja California Sur (SEPUIMM). In this role, she promotes strategies for a just, inclusive, and gender-responsive energy transition; advances the implementation of photovoltaic systems; and strengthens the regulatory framework through public policy instruments and decision-making processes with a social and territorial focus. Previously, as Head of the Climate Change Adaptation Department, she led the design and implementation of public policies on climate matters, the management of national and international funding, and institutional coordination to strengthen resilience to climate change. She has coordinated interinstitutional cooperation programs, represented Baja California Sur at national and international forums, and led environmental education and social participation initiatives. She also has experience managing scientific projects at CIBNOR and conducting fiscal evaluations of federal funds at the Congress of the State of Baja California Sur.
