Ana María is a Chemical Engineer graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua, with a master's degree in environmental science and engineering from Harvard University. She has over 30 years of experience in areas such as air quality, transportation, waste management, climate change, energy, technology transfer, and carbon markets.
She was the General Director of Air Quality Management and Emission and Pollutant Transfer Registry at SEMARNAT for 9 years, where she was responsible for the implementation of the Montreal Protocol in Mexico.
She has consulted for various international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), North American Development Bank (NADB), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), World Bank, and GIZ Mexico, among others. Her projects focus on achieving the commitments of the Paris Agreement, Montreal Protocol, Net Zero, and ESG for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Currently, she collaborates with several State Energy Agencies at a national level and is Vice President of the Mexican Association of Energy Management Companies and co-founder of the ""Women in Energy Network.
