Electrical-Electronic Engineer from the Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM, he has been active in the Renewable Energy business in Mexico, in large wind and solar projects since 2005, collaborating as an Independent Engineer for investors, project developers, as well as for the Mexican government and academia.
In 2009 Jesús finished his degree as a Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Specialist at the University of Applied Sciences for Technology, Business and Design in Wismar, Germany.
Since 2013 he has been involved in developing projects in the solar photovoltaic sector of Distributed Generation. In the same year he participated as an expert in Asia-Pacific Economies forums on energy efficiency for SMEs invited by the Ministry of Economy.
In 2015 he participated in solar PV design activities and technical-economic analysis of the first large-scale solar PV projects in Mexico.
Since 2019 and to date he works at TUV Rheinland Mexico in the Solar Photovoltaic business area, coordinating the support and services to customers in solar plants currently operating in Mexico and South America, coordinating also the performance, quality and safety testing of PV modules, trackers and inverters.

Desde 2019 y hasta la fecha labora en TUV Rheinland México en el área de negocio Solar Fotovoltaica, coordinando el soporte y servicios a clientes en plantas solares que actualmente operan en México y Sudamérica, coordinando también las pruebas de desempeño, calidad y seguridad de módulos fotovoltaicos, seguidores e inversores.

A study by TÜV Rheinland Global has revealed that 30% of PV plants have serious defects, and 50% of these defects are due to errors during installation and operation, poor supervision, undetected poor performance for long periods, underestimation of cleaning needs, insufficient maintenance budget and component incompatibility. This session will discuss the implementation of quality practices as a strategy that minimizes risks and reduces operating and maintenance costs.

Marisol Oropeza, a prominent figure in the solar industry, is recognised as an exceptional advocate for solar heating, renowned for her extensive knowledge and dynamic presence as a public speaker, moderator, and storyteller. Her influential collaborations span initiatives in accelerating the energy transition and advancing solar thermal technology, showcasing her as a highly-skilled professional with a creative mindset. She has cultivated a vast network of contacts in Germany, Europe, and Latin America. Marisol's academic background includes graduating with honors in Business Administration from UNAM, a Master's degree in European Studies from Hochschule Bremen, and additional studies in Strategic Marketing, Leadership, and Sustainable Development.
