Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Materials Physics Science, he has made two academic stays abroad; 1 year at the University of California in San Diego (1999) and 6 years at Arizona State University in Tempe (2002-2008). From September 2008 to the present, he is Full Professor of Statistical Physics and Solar Cell Physics in the Department of Physics Research at the University of Sonora and in the period 2017 - 2021 he served as President of the Academy of Radiation Physics. He has extensive experience in the development of nanostructured opto-electronic materials and overseeing the Hermosillo Solar Platform, his research is focused on Clean Energy Generation and Sustainable Development. In his scientific production, he has a total of 106 scientific publications and 2 patents registered in the United States and 11 patents in process in Mexico, he has also directed 7 high technology projects supported by CONACyT, he has participated in the organization of 12 academic congresses and as a lecturer in 108 academic events. He has imparted 35 different formal matters in front of group and has supervised 31 theses, 9 of which are PhD, 13 Master's and 9 Bachelor's theses. He belongs to the National System of Researchers with level 2, to the CONACYT Register of Accredited Evaluators and is a member of the Technical Administrative Council of the CONACYT Solar Energy Network. The technical-scientific profile that characterizes him has led him to be distinguished with the honorary position of President of the National Solar Energy Association in the XXII Board of Directors for the period 2022-2024. He actively participates in the dissemination of science and technology with the aim of keeping the community informed about the advances in research on Renewable Energies and new energy materials.
