Graduated in languages, economics and cultural studies with a specialization in economics and Spanish-American culture at the Universities of Passau, Germany and Concepción, Chile. He has lived in Mexico since 2003 and worked as Advisor to the Commercial Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy before joining the team of the Economics and Trade Department of the Delegation of the European Union in Mexico in 2006. There he was Trade Cooperation Attaché following up the free trade agreement between Mexico and the European Union and several economic cooperation projects (PROTLCUEM, trade facilitation project with the Ministry of Economy, PROCEI, strengthening of Mexican SMEs to export to the European Union). Since 2011 he is Deputy Director of the Mexican-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CAMEXA, the second largest bilateral chamber in Mexico, whose mission is to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Mexico and Germany. From 2013 to 2018 he participated as an advisor to the Mexican organized private initiative in the technical committee for the implementation of the Mexican Dual Training Model endorsed by the Mexican Ministry of Education. From 2017 to 2019 he served as Advisor to the Specialized Commission on Dual Vocational Training of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) for the field of certification. Since 2017 he has been Chairman of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Competence Management Committee, and since 2013 Vice-Chairman of the CAMEXA Competence Management Committee of CONOCER. Since 2021 he serves as strategic advisor to the Alliance for Dual Education of the German Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) that supports the CCE, COPARMEX and CONOCER in the scaling up of dual business training. Since 2022 he is Vice-Chairman of the Mexico 4.0 Commission of CONCAMIN for the topics of standardization, cybersecurity, sustainability and dual education.
