Mexico City, April 6, 2022 - Intersolar Mexico announces the third edition of Intersolar Mexico, which will be held from September 6-8, 2022 at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, and will be the industry's point of reference to learn about technology trends and generate top-level networking in the promising Mexican solar market.

During the celebration of the Intersolar Mexico Forum, José Navarro, General Director Tarsus Mexico; Dr. Florian Wessendorf CEO Solar Promotion International; Laura Barrera, Show Director Tarsus Mexico; Marisol Oropeza, Marketing and PR of Intersolar Mexico; Karla Cedano, President of the National Association of Solar Energy (ANES); Daniel García, President of Mexican Manufacturers in Renewable Energy (FAMERAC);and Nelson Delgado, General Director of the Mexican Solar Energy Association (ASOLMEX) gathered with the purpose of analyzing the offer of solutions and technologies that will be presented in the next edition of Intersolar Mexico, in addition to sharing their perspective on market development, energy policy and the solar industry in Mexico.

According to José Navarro, Mexico has everything it needs to become a solar energy power in the world, since 85% of the Mexican territory has optimal solar radiation conditions, making it one of the most privileged countries in the world in terms of solar resources.

"As organizers we are very excited to celebrate the third edition of Intersolar Mexico, bringing together specialists from the energy industry, the most important markets and supply chains in the world focused on the areas of photovoltaics and electrical energy storage, as well as solar heating with the participation of manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and industry partners to increase knowledge and develop the advantages of these alternative energies," said José Navarro.

Laura Barrera indicated that the most relevant international events in the sector will once again take place on the same exhibition floor: The GREEN Expo®, Aquatech Mexico and Intersolar Mexico.

"The impact of these events, the three international giants, will be a milestone in our country and the region, with an influx of visitors from different countries and the participation of exhibiting companies that will be promoting the generation of business, showing the most innovative solutions, brands, products and sustainable technologies in the areas of water supply and treatment; waste management and recycling; solutions for the efficient use of energy and the generation of energy from renewable sources; cutting edge technology and key information for the development of green works," she added.

Dr. Florian Wessendorf highlighted the importance of Intersolar with more than 30 years of experience worldwide and the importance of promoting the solar industry in Mexico, which is already part of the green recovery in several countries. "Intersolar Mexico is part of a strategy of solar energy solutions for the economic and ecological recovery of the country," he said. He also unveiled the international platform The Smarter E, the most important innovation center for events and topics that drive the new world of energy.

During her speech, Marisol Oropeza recognized that Intersolar Mexico is more than an event, it is a strategic ally in solar energy for renewable solutions and has positioned itself as the international platform for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and partners in the photovoltaic, solar thermal and energy storage industries.

"Currently Mexico has great potential in solar energy, 85% of the territory is optimal for solar projects and the country has 6.5 GW of installed capacity in large-scale photovoltaic and distributed generation and 4.5 GW of installed capacity in solar thermal. Mexico is also the second largest solar water heating market in Latin America and the world leader in the solar process heating market," explained Oropeza.

As part of this forum, the round table Market development, energy policy and the solar industry in Mexico was held. In this context, Karla Cedano, indicated that companies in the sector need to unite to boost the solar industry in the country.

"Intersolar Mexico will be an event that will unite communities and link strategic actors to advance renewable energy projects. It is undoubtedly a meeting point for both experts and non-experts to have access to clear information about the sector," said Cedano.

See also commented that UNAM is carrying out a study on electricity generation scenarios and based on this, they foresee that in 2050 the commitments acquired could be met, since gas would be generating 20% of the electricity and the rest would come from some renewable source.

Nelson Delgado emphasized that "Mexico has such a vast solar potential that there is no public policy that can turn it the other way, the solar industry will end up imposing itself due to the great demand in the sector".

"For the first time in history, the costs of solar technology make it one of the most viable solutions to move towards the decarbonization of electricity systems and in general the decarbonization of the economy," he said.

Delgado said that the business models in the following years will be the most optimized and estimates that there will be a diversification in the electricity market, in this sense, Mexico has hopes of being a leader in the solar sector and is a global energy player.

In his participation, Daniel Garcia, stated that of the installed capacity of renewable energy worldwide, a quarter is solar thermal energy. "Today, around 26% of the total installed capacity of renewable energies is solar thermal energy and most of the processes are for water heating“.

In this way, Intersolar Mexico will be a strategic event to boost the Mexican solar industry and provide a great opportunity to be updated on the latest developments in the global solar market.
